1. Đầu tư vào lĩnh vực bản thân am hiểu

Người giàu đầu tư vào những thứ họ thực sự am hiểu. Warren Buffet có câu nói nổi tiếng: “Đừng bao giờ đầu tư vào một lĩnh vực kinh doanh mà bạn không thể hiểu được”.

Warren Buffet và Bill Gates là hai người bạn thân, nhưng Buffett không đầu tư vào các công ty công nghệ hay cổ phiếu công nghệ. Buffet là một trong những nhà đầu tư thông minh nhất mọi thời đại, ông chỉ đầu tư vào những gì mình hiểu.

Hầu hết những người giàu đều đầu tư vào những lĩnh vực nhất định. Đừng bao giờ lấn sân sang một môi trường mới khi bạn chưa nắm bắt được cách vận hành chỉ vì người khác đã làm và thành công. Đồng thời, đừng ôm tâm lý làm giàu sau một đêm hoặc tư tưởng “ăn may”. Đó là suy nghĩ của một nhà đầu tư “nghiệp dư”.

2. Quy tắc đầu tư 1%

Người giàu luôn tìm kiếm các khoản đầu tư, hay còn gọi là tìm kiếm luồng giao dịch. Trong bối cảnh hiện nay, đầu tư không bị giới hạn, những điểm cốt yếu là người đầu tư phải biết mình nên bỏ tiền vào đúng chỗ.

Có một quy tắc đơn giản: 100, 10, 3, 1. Có nghĩa là khi nhìn vào một trăm giao dịch, một trăm khoản đầu tư tiềm năng, các nhà đầu tư sẽ chia nó thành mười hạng mục đáng cân nhắc. Từ mười lựa chọn đó, họ sẽ thu hẹp thành ba “ứng viên” có tiềm năng và cuối cùng chọn một khoản đầu tư có lợi nhất.

Các tỷ phú được “săn đón” bởi rất nhiều dự án trên khắp thế giới nhưng họ từ chối 99% số đó.

Nhiều người sẽ cho rằng như vậy đồng nghĩa với việc đánh mất đi những cơ hội tiềm năng. Tuy nhiên, khi nói đến đầu tư, các doanh nhân là người am hiểu hơn bất cứ ai. Một lựa chọn được đưa ra phải dựa trên những đối chiếu với thực tế, tính toán lợi ích và rủi ro, vì trên thương trường “sai một li đi một dặm”.

Các thành viên cực kỳ giàu có của TIGER 21 (630 người sở hữu hơn 10 triệu đô la đầu tư) có 75% cổ phần trong cổ phần công, cổ phần tư nhân và bất động sản. Chỉ 10% tiền của họ ở dưới hình thức tiền mặt.

3. Sử dụng logic thay vì cảm xúc

Các nhà đầu tư “nghiệp dư” rất dễ hành động theo cảm tính. Hiểu một cách đơn giản, các quyết định đầu tư của họ thường được thúc đẩy bởi những cảm xúc nhất thời. Ví dụ, họ sẽ mua bất động sản ở khu vực A vì họ yêu thích khu vực lân cận. Thậm chí có khi chỉ vì tình làng nghĩa xóm hoặc những kỷ niệm tuổi thơ mà họ rót tiền vào lĩnh vực này…

Khi người giàu đầu tư, các quyết định của họ độc lập với cảm xúc. Họ không quan tâm đến thực tế rằng khu phố A gợi nhớ về tuổi thơ, hay khung cảnh ở địa điểm B khiến họ cảm thấy bình yên. Điều duy nhất họ quan tâm ở đây là những con số.

Các nhà đầu tư nghiệp dư không ít lần “nướng” tiền của mình vào chứng khoán vì cảm xúc. Họ tham lam khi giá cổ phiếu tăng, và không muốn bán. Họ ôm tâm lý đợi giá được đẩy lên cao hơn nữa nhưng rồi đột nhiên, nó giảm xuống và kết cục là những người này “trắng tay”.
